Prime Penetrator is a water based penetrating sealer specifically designed to provide a durable, non-film forming, transparent protective barrier against water, stains and other contaminates from penetrating the surface. The Penetrator deeply penetrates the pores of the surface creating a strong bond with the material. It provides long lasting protection for porous surfaces without leaving any visible film or coating which is ideal for natural stone and concrete surfaces. Prime Penetrator is a water based eco-friendly option compared to solvent based sealers. It is easy to apply and clean up without using harsh chemicals and solvents. Coverage can vary according to the porosity of the surface being sealed and the method of application.
Approximately 9-15 square metres / litre can be used a guide.
Application Guide
PRECAUTIONS
• Do NOT apply if the ambient temperature is less than 10°C or greater than 30°C or if conditions will drop below 10°C during the drying period.
• Do NOT apply if rain or dew is expected within 3 hours of application.
• Ensure adequate ventilation during application and the drying period. Under normal conditions, the coating may require up to seven days curing to develop resin hardness.
• Please ensure coated area remain free of cars and heavy traffic for at least three to four days, walking on the area is possible 2-3 hours after application.
• Containers must be secured and stored upright during transit. Protect from extremes of temperature. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place and out of direct sunlight or naked flames, check regularly for leaks.
• Avoid release into the environment
• Wear PPE including protective gloves and eye wear when using Prime Penetrator
APPLICATION
Test Patch – Prime Exposure advises to follow the procedure instructions below on a small test patch area to assess performance and compatibility. Ideally, the test patch should be observed for the next 2-4 weeks to assess any environmental impacts on performance. Proper surface preparation is essential for ensuring effectiveness and longevity of Prime Penetrator. The area to be sealed must be thoroughly cleaned with a pressure cleaner (above 2000 PSI) to remove all dirt, grease and other contaminates that can interfere with the sealers ability to penetrate the surface. All contaminates must be removed before applying Prime Penetrator. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly before applying Prime Penetrator. We suggest waiting a minimum of 24 hours after cleaning to allow the surface to dry completely before applying Prime Penetrator. We recommend applying Prime Penetrator with a superior spray unit (i.e. Royal Condor RC-18) to ensure an even coating. Prime Penetrator can also be applied using a good quality roller maintaining an even coat without pooling. After the first coat has been applied, allow a minimum of 3-4 hours (weather dependant) before applying a second coat. Ideally, wait as long as possible between coats.
RECOATING
Prime Penetrator provides long lasting protection and may not require frequent reapplication. However, it is important to monitor the condition of the sealed surface over time to determine when reapplication is required to maintain its protective properties. Signs reapplication is required are that water is no longer beading on the surface, stains or discolouration appear on the surface demonstrating that the surface is no longer adequately protected or if the surface is subjected to heavy wear and tear.
CLEAN UP
Wash all equipment thoroughly in water and allow to dry. It is important to keep all sealers out of sewer and storm water drains. Do NOT pour any leftover product down the drain. If spills occur, contain and absorb spill, collect in sealable containers and dispose of as trade waste in accordance with local authority guidelines. Retain any remaining product in a marked sealed container for future use or disposal via special chemical waste collection program. Dried empty containers can be recycled and should be disposed of via recycling facilities.
